Master of Science in Business Analyst
Knowledge and collaboration are two words that have played a pivotal role in shaping my academic and profession growth. Since the time I realized the importance of knowledge in life, I
have aggressively pursued all opportunities that allow me to continue broadening my scope on a
wide array of concepts and skills. My passion is to pursue a career in business world, and I have
thus ventured into all fields that will give me the knowledge required to prosper in this field.
Firstly, I completed my bachelor’s degree in Management Science here at the UCSD, with a
GPA of 3.93 and 4.0 in 2018 for the last two Quarters (Winter and Spring). Some of the subjects
that I was pursuing include Operation reseatch, Finance, and Econometrics. However, after
learning Stata and Matlab in the econometrics and Linear Algebra class, I realized that data analysis is very essential in future business world and the theoretical knowledge of economics and
finance alone is not enough to adapt the world tendency. Learning never stops, so I started to explore programming and data analysis field after school, learn R and Python through Coursera. I
believe that all these will enable me to sail through a Master of Science in Business Analyst
seamlessly and graduate into the professional domain with the capability to execute data analysis
tasks competently.
In addition, I believe in the power of collaboration. Both in personal and professional advancement, we need the contribution of others. We should also endeavor to be part of the success of
our peers, those below us, and those above us in the ladder of academics. During my internship
at KPMG in the summer of 2017, I got to understand the importance of collaborating in the
workplace. I had always been enthralled by the idea of data analysis, knowing that the future of
modern business is in big data. However, I faced one unique challenge immediately after I

started my internship. The manager assigned me a task which involved in collecting and compiling data about numerous pharmaceutical companies. While it took me a whole week to collect
the data, the main problem was in compiling and analysis. I realized that I did not have sufficient
expertise in Excel to perform that analysis. Luckily, I had a few colleagues with whom I could
collaborate to share knowledge and skills. Through their assistance and other learning resources
from the internet, I was able to finish the task effectively and the manager was pleased with my
performance. I have also collaborated in several other areas such as volunteering activities in the
community and games.
On the whole, I believe that I can effectively apply my all knowledge and collaboration skills
succeed in Rady School of Management. What I need most is a systematical advanced education
at my alma mater. Securing an opportunity from the school will be a great stride toward achieving my dream as a business analyst.
